Tomorrow

Tomorrow will be the 20th anniversary of that terrible day in 2001 when the Twin Towers collapsed and Americans entered a new era of national insecurity.

I wish I could say that I felt this country was stronger today than we were in 2001 but clearly we’re not. We’re led by a man who, even if he wasn’t senile, would still be one of the most vacuous figures to ever come out of Washington. He’s a man who, just a few weeks ago, showed our enemies that he’s not willing to fight and that he’ll leave Americans behind if the logistics of saving them are too complicated.

George W. Bush gets a lot of criticism but, in the days immediately following 9-11, he was exactly what this country needed. He was just as angry as all of us. He was just as a determined to get justice for thousands killed as all of us. He rallied this country together because, unlike the Presidents who followed him, he loved America more than he loved his own ego.

Can Joe Biden keep us safe?

Ask the Americans we abandoned in Afghanistan.
